the price of immortality
A lonely score of winters pass,
A thousand wraths of noon,
Soon time and tide shall pass away,
But they cannot take my boon .
Love of youth had wits expunged,
A folly made neath the moon,
A shadow running cross the night
For her I asked this boon .
While the lazy moon did saunter
I saw her, alluring daughter of night
At once mind and heart did falter
Fell in love at her very sight .

And bathed by Hyperions light
Havens maiden, she walked gently
Bowed eyes lit dark by the night ..
For many a night her beauty grew
Till all was dimmed before the light of her face
And one such night I did approach her
The stars flickered on her golden lace .
Her gleaming eyes did lose their luster
For a moment mother Gaea lost her base
Oh prince for long I have held thee dear
Fair maiden I only await thy grace .
Married we were, great flags did flutter
The prince a mortal? the outraged said
